| Sweet Microsoft Research! |

Although I don't have a particular fondness for MS commercial work, Research is always interesting with things like Singularity and F#. And this. The only bummer is the wording of the license, which includes this wonderful gem in the Microsoft Research Shared Source license agreement: > 11) That the patent rights, if any, granted to you in this MSR-SSLA only apply to the Software, not to any derivative works you make. Sure, create something awesome that uses this. Just don't expect to not get hit up for a patent licensing fees, if it takes off. Actually, thats not that bad. If you have a sane understanding of "derivative work". Which, unfortunately, is an issue even when applying the more popular GPL/LGPL licenses. But still, thanks for releasing it. It will be fun to play with. |
