| Chrono Trigger released for Android |

| It's already been out for iOS for a while, but today, Android users can join in on this piece of gaming history as well. Chrono Trigger, arguably one of the best - if not the best - games ever made has just been released for Android. Whether you ascribe to that position or not, this 1995 SNES classic from Square was revolutionary in many ways (oh the music...), and you owe it to yourself to give it a go. It's EUR 7.99, which isn't cheap, but trust me: it's worth it. My Nexus 7 just became even more useful. |

I looked at my Videogame Music Ranking: http://bloodyalbatross.tumblr.co... I listen to the ReMixes from ocremix.org and the original SPC files ripped from the ROM. :) Chrono Trigger is the game with the most remixes on ocremix.org (103 remixes). FF7 is second with 94 remixes. The song with the most remixes is Corridor of Time (15 remixes). Well, it's at par with Dr. Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2, Overworld BGM from Super Mario Bros. and Terra from Final Fantasy VI. |

Hum, time travel? Ultima ][ in 1982. And you could beat up Ronald McDonald! The combat system sounds like Ultima VI (1990). Even though I'm an Ultima fan the combat system used in SSI's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons games was more fun. |

I was an Ultima fan as well. Actually no, I was an Ultima Undrworld fan, to be precise. But anyway, Chrono Trigger was/is way more fun than Ultima, even if the latter involves more "role playing". Both Chrono Trigger and the Ultima franchise were great, nonetheless. Back then, RPGs had actual gameplay, not some cutscene-fest like modern day Final Fantasy crap where you play for 60 minutes and end up watching B-movies for 60 hours. As for the Android version, I'm not getting it. Already own the Nintendo DS version that got released a few years ago. Don't really have that much free time for such an engrossing game these days anyway. Edited 2012-10-29 17:22 UTC |

It seems any game that features hit points and some magic can label itself an RPG. For example Infinity Blade is called a RPG while it's just a slice 'em up game. I have been unable to find an Ultima-like RPG for iOS, even though it should be easy to do one. A few days ago I started playing Ultima IV on my Mac, it runs in some DOS emulator. |

Tempting me to the Dark Side you try, HMMMM! I have a DOS emulator on my iPad, never really used it for anything. It may even have been pulled from the app store a long time ago. My plan was to dump Ultima IV in Dropbox and see if it then runs on any Mac. I already printed all the docs on the company printer when no one was looking. |
